Yes....and any parent who makes the excuse "Well the window is down..." is being rediculous. If you're sitting in the backseat with a blindfold on, you can tell when someone is smoking in the front seat... window down or not. The fact that you can't put off your addiction long enough to transport your child just shows how selfish and rediculously self centered you are. It's a shame your child will be raised in such a home....

Well - it's not illegal to smoke when your PREGNANT - so why should it be illegal to smoke in your car with the baby there - or in your house with the baby there?
If the government doesn't want people smoking - they will have to make cigarettes illegal. It's ridiculous to go after every little situation differently.
Should it be against the law? Maybe. Is it stupid and inconsiderate and self-centered - absolutely!

Yes it should. I am a smoker but smoking in the car with a newborn is something I completely disagree with. My friend's granddaughter was 3 days old when she had to be taken in the emergency room for RSV. My friend's stupid daughter had the baby out driving around with 4 people in the car in the middle of december. So there she was driving around with everyone smoking. I'm in Ohio and you could imagine the weather. My friend now not only has legally adopted her granddaughter but also has her grandson whom she adopted as well. I agre with you.

Why just newborns? why just in the car?
People should not be allowed to put their children at risk like this.
If parents were still sending kids off to work and up chimneys at the age of five they would be taken away by social services yet breathing smoke in your childs face is perfectly fine?
and I smoke too but outside i'm smoking why should other people be affected by my dumbass descisions

It should be common sense to not smoke any where near a newborn, or any child. If you cannot understand why, you should refrain from having children. Most gals that I know, have quit smoking while they were pregnant, some never started up again!

Alright.. I am a smoker. I refuse to smoke around my son, car house where ever. I am strictly an outdoor smoker. Just because i smoke doesnt mean my child has to. I fully agree that you should not be allowed to smoke in the car with ANY aged child. Yes it should be illegal.

Hello:
I think anything that can harm a baby should be illegal. Second hand smoke has proven to be harmful.
I personally don't know of anyone who smokes in their car with their baby inside it.
