I bet my friend that sasha baron cohen was borat and jean girard for a wii-mote and now he claims it's a wii remote. I know he called it that as well but I want to make sure he owes me one.

It is called the Wii Remote. Just like a TV remote but you don't hear people saying, "T-Mote". I believe it's all the game reviewers that came up with the term Wii-mote. I've been promo-ing the units and we've been instructed to call it a remote and not a controller. Also it is not, "the Nintendo Wii." Just "Wii" as in us instead of you or I.

Wii remote is the correct term for it; but wii-mote is the more common name for it and it just sounds cooler than wii remote.
