Can you trade pokemon from Pokemon red to pokemon Emerald?

for many good reasons

first, there is almost nothing in emerald that can trade back to first generation 'red'

yes, there is 47 pokemon that are obtainable in emerald that existed in the times of red/blue but... if any of them have a move that isn't in existance in red/blue, you could not trade

second, there are problems with items. you could possibly have been able to bring something from emerald, into red. they would then be able to do the item multiplier cheat and be able to use 10 proteins, 10 irons, etc... then they could trade into gold, silver or crystal, where the EV layouts are messed up and EV train every stat up to 255 points, nulling the 510 max given in third generation games (fire, leaf, ruby, sapphire, emerald). then they could trade back to emerald, and from there be uploaded onto diamond or pearl (in spring of 2007 or later) and be able to battle someone else online, and have higher stats than could be possible, giving them an unfair advantage

the reason you are not able to trade from red, blue, yellow, gold, silver, and crystal into current versions of the game are actually mostly so that they could avoid the EV layout mess up, as well as the item duplication trick in g/s/c and the item multiplier in r/b/y

You can but in order to do this , you must get both Ruby and sapphire crystals in fire red and give them to Celio. Ruby- Found inside mountain where moltres exists Sapphire- In Island i think 6 or 7 you will find this mysterious place where there is lots of braille and the door is needed to be cut you will find the sapphire by falling into holes or whatever you call those , it will get taken away by a scientist and you have to fight all the team rockets and this scientist who is in the team rocket warehouse to get the sapphire.
