It's very unlikely that it will still exist. When you delete a file it frees up the disk space for other files to be written, so it's highly likely that the file has been partly or completely overwritten (unless you have done very little work on the computer since and have never defragmented the hard disk).
PC Inspector is one of the many programs you could use to see what, if anything, is recoverable: http://www.pcinspector.de/file_recovery/uk/download.htm
Note that System Restore (even if there is a date there before you deleted the files) will NOT recover data files, only system files, which will be of no use to you.

If you deleted a file that long ago, it may be impossible by normal means to recover, as the data where it was located may have been overwritten many times.
Depending on how critical the file is, you can look for a forensic data recovery service in your area. They can possibly recover the data, but these services are very expensive.

At this point it would take the resources of a government computer forensics lab.
The motherboard is not a file storage device. It's the circuit board that the processor & other chips & other devices plug into.

If you've used your computer a lot and saved and deleted a lot of data it has probably been overwritten beyond recovery. Search for a good recovery program that searches your free space for deleted data.

no longer if any component you have executed on account that has over written the disk area used via the deleted data. that's fantastically no longer likely you would be waiting to get well any of them. in case you defrag the perplexing stress they're already long gone. there is unfastened Undelete classes on the internet.

Even hacking into the computer probably won't help. Can you get it back from the cop?

In all honestly, they are very likely long, long gone, unless you've never emptied your trash/recycle bin. The disk sectors they were written on have been overwritten many, many times by now. Sorry about that.
