Yes! Some of us do! I gave up smoking each time I was pregnant! The most awful thing about smokers is the way they smell! Gawd, it is bad! But, unfortunately for me, as the kid came out, so did the cigs! Hate myself for it, but there you go! I buy and smoke my cigs, they are my sanity! no cigs=kids in care/casualty..........me in custody!
so they do have value.....somewhere in life........me thinks............even if I do stink:
May I ask what is your vice in this life?
May I also state, there is nothing in this world (beside terrorists)worse than a reformed smoker!

As an ex smoker I can say that smokers don't know how great it is not to smoke nor do they know how bad they smell until they actually give up. I am so glad that I gave up on my first attempt 4 years ago after a visit to the doctors when I had yet another chest infection, my last cigarette was just before I went into the doctors and I came out a changed man and have never been tempted to smoke again. Other reasons to stop are, better health and more money in your pocket.

Having given up smoking five days ago I'd say no they don't as I noticed an immediate improvement in my health(I don't need my Asthma Inhaler anymore), food has started tasted nicer and I didn't know that fruit pastels actually taste of different fruits. I also have noticed how bad not only cigarette smoke smells but to get close to the smell of a smoker when I was one I'd have to stick my nose in an ashtray, which is something I've never done but is the only way I can define the smell.

I don't mind people smoking - its their choice, but I have to admit, that since I stopped smoking I now have a really bad problem that I smell it really strongly from 10miles off (maybe a slight exaggeration!!) I dont ever recall before I started smoking, ever being able to smell it as strong as I do now, I can smell even the faintest hint of it on clothes, fingers, breath, hair, in rooms etc etc - and I really find it stomach churning - however, as I say - its a smokers choice, and my sense of smell is my problem not theirs!!!!

My last cigarette was on thee 4th February 2006. I love the fact that I gave up and yes I do realise how bad the smell is. I for one will be very glad when they ban smoking. I never thought that I would give up smoking, but I did and I am so proud of myself. You too can do it

My husband smokes, I dint.. He does care and trays to keep the smoke away from people when we are out,
When he goes outside to smoke he doesn't know that he brings the smell back in with him.
I hate him smoking at home but he says " he was a smoker when I met him".
When my grandchildren are visiting I ban him.I must confess after 12 years his coughing, smoking , cost, is getting me down.

how great thou art,do you think they would be smoking if they could give it up, a lot of them try but find it very hard to quit the habit, the reason they are still smoking is because it makes them feel great after a cigarette. as for smell there are a lot worse smells from some people than cigarette smoking

I finally quit smoking after 9 years and I have to say that those last 3 years of smoking were filled with guilt and I felt disgusting like the cigarettes were controlling me. I dont think I realized how bad I stunk tho. These days I think we all know the health threats cigarettes pose but most of us claim we dont care. There are a lot of people in my family who have numerous health problems (including throat cancer) caused by years of smoking and they are still lighting up.

I agree that smokers smell of smoke but if you are going to argue about how oeople smell after smoking why dont you all moan about people who drink. THEY SMELL DISGUSTING AND CAUSE JUST AS MUCH DAMAGE IF NOT MORE WHEN THEY ARE DRUNK.

Do preaching non smokers have any idea how annoying they are to smokers and how a bad a number of non-smokers smell anyway as a result of B.O., pets, unwashed clothes etc?
And I've stopped smoking for over 2 months. Give it a rest. I'm sure a lot of smokers would rather not be smoking,
And yes, I hated the smell of stale smoke on my clothes and I'd smoked 20 a day for 15 years

I've quit so many times, and I continue to go back to my habit. No, all of the times I have quit for approx. 6mo., 1yr. and then 2yrs. I felt no better, no worse. I think I smoke cause I enjoy it and also I do believe it relaxes me...(my opinion only) Now, to your 2nd question...I don't smoke in the presence of non-smokers, and I don't think I smell bad...I've asked my daughter who has never smoked and she said no, but when you smoke it gets on my clothes and bothers my eyes...so, I respect her and do not smoke while I am around her...I never smoke in my car or anyones' car and never smoke in other peoples' homes...I can be around non-smokers for the entire evening without lighting up and enjoy myself. I respect others and I feel that what I do by myself and in my own home is completely my own decision. You had excellent questions and I am glad to respond. Have you thought about this one....do people know how bad they smell or how stupid they look when they get drunk and think they're funny but they're really obnoxious? A thought to ponder...have a good night!
