Windows XP may not be your problem. If all your devices are on board I would use the Mother board CD for installing all my devices and remove whatever drivers windows may have installed automatically.

If all your devices are separate I would contact the manufacturer of each device and get the drivers that way.

If that doesn't work I would call manufacturer support for the device or swap devices.

Did you re-install the drivers for the DVD/CD player? Go to device manager and uninstall the optical drive and then reboot the computer. That will reload the drivers for the drive. Did you use the original mobo driver CD to reinstall the mobo drivers? If you still have problems, get the mobo drivers from Intel's web site. If you still have problems, your mobo may be toast. The "southbridge" chip on the mobo may have crapped out.
