Cavour and Garibaldi?

first off, i do plan on doing this essay myself, i just want to see some other opinions.
i have an IB HL history essay to write. the title is "compare and contrast the contributions made by cavour and garibaldi to italian unification" it has to be under 1000 words, so probably around 800-900 words long. i was just wondering if anyone had any ideas. (and i do know the contributions made by each, it is more the compare and contrast bit that i am having trouble with)

yes, most definitely take some time researching this problem in good scholarly sources. concerning some ideas for compare/contrast of Garibaldi and Camillo Cavour, here are some questions to think about.

1. METHODS (probably the greatest difference between the two): by what means did each plan to acheive Italian unification (i.e. diplomacy, revolution, war, propoganda, etc.)

2. What was the role of violence in the plans of Cavour and Garibaldi to unify Italy? (both used it, but in totally different measures...focus on Cavour's war-time commitmens and alliances. you should have no trouble with Garibaldi)

3. What was the focus of each, in regards to their efforts to unify? Was it inward (unify southern Italy to Rome and branch outward), or outward (acquire territories previously held by Austria to promote nationalism and unify the rest of the country.)
