Goldfish? No.
My parents kept tropical fish for years and some of those were interesting-bordering-on-loveable.
They had a lionfish that would defend his domain against a few other fish but act like a big scaredy catfish around our leopard-spotted-eel.
The leopard-spotted-eel was rather personable: when we plunked food into the tank we'd let our fingers dangle in the water, whence he would come by and slither back and forth across our fingers, much as though we were petting him.

Yes, they have more personality than you think.
They become even more lovable if you hand feed them (make sure your hands a clean though and ALWAYS wash your hands before and after feeding them as you don't want to dirty or poison the water and the fish tank is also their bathroom).
We used to have a goldfish named Spot who would swim up to you when you called her and would actually go in your hand if you put it in the tank. Our other goldfish tend to swim up to you if you sit near the tank.

OF COURSE!!! I used to have a couple of goldfish that I got at a local carnival, and they were sooo cute and pretty!!! After a few weeks of being in your aquarium, they will recognize their main feeder and every time that person shows up at the aquarium glass, the fish will know that they are being fed so they will twirl around and swim crazily. It's sooo cute!!!

I started playing with goldfish on wednesday for 2 minutes............I stuck a plastic centipede in their bowl and chased them with it!!!! I guess that was the only 2 minutes of my life when I loved goldfish..........besides the edible goldfish crackers!!!!!! I love those!!!!!! muah!!

likable, but not lovable, you can't pet a goldfish, or play with one, or cuddle.

not really all they do is swim and stare at u all day, vry dull really. the goldfish snack, well thats a different story.
