I really wish you hadn't deleted the other question. I had a great answer I was posting when it told me you had deleted it. This is not a good question because a democracy is the ONLY way to go. I personally don't want to be dictated to about how to live my life.

Pros. 1. The merchant class is empowered --as opposed to an aristocracy that inherits wealth. 2. Labor unions tend to fight successfully for the working man. 3. Minorites rights shape policy -- there is less of a tyranny of the majority. The majority sects are criticized in the open.

Cons. 1. Corruption is always a problem when money influences legislation that helps the merchant class -- Lobbyist have too much power. 2. All political parties are slaves to global capitalism. 3. Neither party can conduct meaningful Congressional oversight. The corruption in democracy is too pervasive. The power of the Executive branch has never been effectively checked by Congress.

the U. S. isnt a democracy. Its a republic. Democracies have a tendacy to devolve into authoritarian govts. The extremely isn't any income in authoritarianism, except for the politicians, and the banks, and the particular interests. A democracy is the authoritarianism of maximum individuals. Its 2 wolfs and a million sheep figuring out on whats for dinner. A republic is maximum individuals will yet does not enable the rights of the minority to be infringed. the benefits of a republic is a lot of liberty, and many wealth for the optimal quantity of people. the shrink back is it takes a good number of time for issues to get done, b/c some issues won't be able to be voted on and by no potential everybody has the same opinion.
