Probably because a full scale investigation of the Foley scandal will uncover a lot of dirty little democrat secrets. Lady Pelosi was not very happy with the appointment of Louis Freeh to lead the Foley investigation. Freeh was the FBI director under the Clinton administration and has a history of being non-partisan.

House Ethics Committee is an oxymoron, just like jumbo shrimp. And, they're afraid that the scandal is a lot more widespread than the reports in the media would suggest.
Besides, sending porn to teenage boys and seducing them (or trying to) is looked upon by society as one of the most despicable crimes on the books. Rightfully so!!
Finally, It is characteristic of these Republicans to do nothing when a crisis or an important issue comes up. They lack courage, among other things.

there is absolute self assurance that's a shaggy dog tale.there replaced into little doubt in my concepts that the Ethics Committee would come back with that looking fantastically even as the criminal is interior maximum persons. it fairly is why Congress has a 20% approval score or as i'd extremely say an 80% adverse score.Congress takes perpetually to do some thing or maybe as they do some thing it isn't in any respect proper. This u . s . needs time period limits badly. we want statesmen or females not politicians.

That is what they call a oximoron. There is a mass exodus of ethics everytime politicans get together. Foley is gone why waste time on that instead try looking at members that are still there who are taking bribes and chasing pages around the halls of congress.

1) Because the republicans are still in power. They don't want to taint their reputation even further.
2) What good would it do? Foley resigned! It should not be one of the top things Congress does. We don't pay them to investigate people's sexuality and whatnot, we pay them to make laws and oversee other branches of government.

Like gorillas in the mist, politicians pound their chests and make all kinds of intimidating noises. Then they shut up and try to sweep everything under the rug, hoping the public will forget about it ( and the public usually does!). -RKO-

Good question - at least the state of Florida has started a criminal investigation into his activities, so there are some officials who aren't just hoping it'll go away.

They've been to busy campaigning. I expect them to take it up in Jan. BTW, "Congressional ethics" is an oxymoron.
