Oooh that's so cool that you're getting a hamster! They're sooo much fun to play and to cuddle with!!! Anyways, a recommend getting a teddy bear hamster. They are REALLY cute, and in my opinion, they have the best personalities. They come in all sorts of colors such as white, grey, beige, tan, light-medium-dark brown, black, etc. I had a black one once who I named Teddy, and he was the sweetest little thing. He was sooo adorable! *Sniff* *tear* I miss him so much. Now he's up in hampie heaven! Anyway...I'm not really sure how much teddy bear hamsters cost, I think it could range anywhere from $5-30, but I do know that at Petsmart they cost $20 (at least at the one by my house). However, I don't recommend you get one in a big pet-industry store like Petsmart or Petco, because the employees are so busy there that they do not have time to handle the animals, and therefore the critters they have tend to be much nippier. You should get your hamster from a smaller store, one that is non-chain and family-owned. Also, you should definitely get a boy hamster! And get one that's really young so that you can train it not to bite you at an early age!!! Good luck; hope my information helped!!!

if you want more than one hamster, you should get russian dwarfs, or winter white dwarfs. syrian hamsters need to be kept alone most of the time. rusian dwarfs don't like to be held as much. syrians love to be held.

get a dwarf hamster! they're much cuter, much smaller versions of the full-size and they're so much easier to take care of cuz they're so small...they hardly eat anything at all!
