I'm assuming you're talking about something shaped like a log:

volume = pi x r^2 x h

Here, r = d/2 = 12 inches = 1 foot
h = height = 8 feet
pi = about 3.14

volume = 3.14 x 1^2 x 8 = 25.12 cubic feet

I'm assuming this is a cylinder:
volume = h(pi)r^2
h = 8 feet
r = 1 foot (24 inch diameter = 2 foot diameter = 1 foot radius)

8*pi*1^2 = 25.133 cubic feet. That's rounded to the nearest 1000th.

Not quite enough information in this question. Is this a cylinder?

If so, V = pi (radius^2)(length)
= pi (1) (8)
= 25.13 cu. ft.
