Does this justify the Ucla officers tasing him 5 times while he was handcuffed. He was on his way out. When they tasered him the first time, he would not get up so they tasered him again. According to research, the taser shot can incapacitate a person anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes.

Miss Mina your answer is really simplistic. You cannot give anyone absolute authority.

Yes, the Bruins website that I read says that he was handcuffed.

If you want to answer this question, you need to see that a white police, almost at the end of the video, is also threatening another student with Tasering. Hence it is the mentality of the police which caused the incident and not the student attitude.

I will always remember this student for creating an opportunity for the world to see how wrong it is to involve the meat-head police in Universality affairs. I'm sure God will reward the student for the pain he suffered, from the police brutality.

I have been in the University for longest time. I don't see any point my Id to be checked by Police. If you are concern, then why do you let the student get in? Instead you interrupt student in the middle of his work and ask for Id. The police can not even comprehend that we are getting to the end of semester and every single student is over busy.

Hence it is better to create a wall around the university and not let anybody gets in without Id than letting them in and TASERING them. It looks like framing to me.

We don't know the story, but he was uncooperative and verbally abusive on the video I saw. We don't know if he physically threatened or just resisted, but it was unlawful for him to do either. The Taser is a great tool, and it doesn't incapacitate for any longer than it's deployed. As soon as the Taser is turned off, you can get up and walk and talk and chew gum. I know because I was Tasered; my cousin got one for personal protection- IT SUCKS GETTING Tasered, but once it's done, it's done. And they don't kill people- people have died after being Tasered, but it's always been linked to excessive drug use or other pre-existing medical conditions, despite Amnesty Internationals' crazy claims.

Also, in the video, he clearly was NOT handcuffed. SO if he continues to resist, he continues to get Tasered. My only thought is that several officers could probably have just picked the idiot up by each one grabbing a limb, and stopped Tasering him, but, again, we weren't there.

In summary, looks and sounds justified to me- idiot was a problem, they handled it, no one was hurt.

"Oh little boy, it particularly is rather an obtrusive answer. See, i prefer secure practices from bratty sons and daughters, or any little ones for that remember. and a few little ones are just to perplexing to take down. So the extra cats there is, the extra threat that they are going to be waiting to consume the bratty baby." Then smile. >:) -i'm very mean whilst i'm ill-

UCLA's student paper makes no mention of the student being handcuffed, or of 5 taserings.

He was on his way out, but had broken the rules for the room and possibly broken the law. 'On his way out' in those conditions is usually called 'trying to run away' or 'evading the police'.

There is not enough information released yet to decide who, if either, was at fault or if the force was truly excessive- but the student WAS breaking the rules first.

Sure, the video is dramatic- but totally non-conclusive, and not even very helpful.

Unless you are a police officer in their situation I don't see how you are in any position to pass judgement. As a society we give them the power to use force as they see fit.

no this is not justifiable. i think tasers shouldn't be used anymore becuz cops are abusing them. people have died from tasers. cops are abusing their power, and they don't get punished.
