i did because i wanted other people to relize that i hurt to. i mean, i don't want to offend anybody here, i just wanna answer your question from a "goths" point of view...anyhoo. everyone always came to me for help. people used me like toilet paper, something you use then toss. i became "goth" so that people would relize that i had problems too, i didn't really eat for weeks, i hated myself, no body knew, cuz i was "the strong one" adn they just wanted me to help them, not careing that i was dieing inside. since becomming "goth" people relized right off the back, i ain't doing well, i hurt. life is really hard. i still love my friends, they know they can talk to me about anything, but know they know that i have pain to. and that is my point of view. i really didn't mean to offend any one here. please don't get mad at me. peace.

There are plenty of reasons ppl go "goth" all of them different, I'm sure. You sound like you're refering to ppl who are going through fazes or just want shock value. If that's the case, well then, I guess they want attention. But nobody seems to mind when like this season alot of the fall designs are gothic inspired. Which goes to show goth can be very classy and elegant (please no black lipstick& black faded t-shirts)

I think ppl do this for different kinds of reasons
1. Just for fashion.
2. I guess ppl just lose interest in pastels (pinks, yellow, greens, ect.)
3. They have a family issue or something really serious like snobs saying that they r fat or ugly etc. this making them feel really bad and they cut themselves etc.
Crazy Rite I know just don't allow yourself to get mad or angry or even look down on your self just because someone says something about u.

People like to be different, and maybe it's a form of expressing theirselves. Everyone is born different and why try and fit into the everday mold? People are way too judgemental these days.

I guess because they like trying new things and sometimes it's just some sort of faze they go thru. Some do to i guess "rebel" and people think "oh i'm dangerous " or " you don't want to mess with me! Some do it because they like dark things and may be extremely depressed!

Foe myself it is a combination of:
Feeling shitty at times
Wanting others to recognized that
Feeling that I can express myself and not feel so bottled-in.

i guess they're personality is maybe dark and depressed or idk, really. i'm not gothic but i like the color black. just becuz i do want some black stuff and i wear black doesn't mean i'm goth and dark and all of those things...my friends wear black and one friend is a total girly Shirley. scratch that, her name;s Madeleine.
