if its only a few points, like 10 or 15 vote for unresolved questions. then you'll be at the next level and have a higher limit you can use right away, i did that about 3 weeks ago.

It is part of the motivation for moving up in levels.
If you can't answer them you can probably still pick best answers. You get 1 point for each and if you pick ones with only a few responses the choosing goes quickly. Keep doing that until you run up to your choosing-best limit. Maybe that will be enough points to get you to the next level. You can vote for 40 best answers and get 40 more points that way.
