He is expressing the last kiss. The kiss of acceptance that she is gone and he is going to be with her..(alas all is not what it seems but he does not know this). With the kiss on his lips he feels that all he was here for has been accomplished and finished with her death and now his. Extreme yes....but it is Shakespeare the man who taught us how to see life in different measures. Think about it the concept is not new...it is as old as...well even older than Shakespeare

Yes, he is expressing EXTREME emotion. He is dying so every word he says takes on even more meaning.
