Since there is so much poverty, overpopulation, dissapearing animal habitats, de-forestation to keep up building homes I think the world should adopt the China rule. 1 kid and 1 kid only.

I stated before in one of my answers that I love the good ol' USA for many reasons but I don't agree with everything that the gov't does or the way some of our laws are passed. I don't think we should be told on how many kids to have but I do agree that if a person is on welfare and keeps having kids to collect the food stamps, medical card and cash that needs to be stopped. So far, we continue to pay our taxes to support many of these people and I am totally against that! I work too hard for my money and I have seen it over and over that women half my age are having 5 and more kids and they have been in the system for over 10 yrs.! That is just wrong and the gov't needs to step up and create laws that prohibit this abuse! I personally know 4 girls, under the age of 24 who have 4 - 5 kids each, never been married, different fathers and they have never had a job! They brag about it and say that it is better than working a 8-5 job! Again, I've written to my congressman and senator to voice my disapproval...that's about all I can do, other than keep complaining and the more we complain, hopefully someone will be listening and make a move to change this policy. I feel the same about women who take fertility drugs and end up having triplets, or more and then go on TV and ask the public for help to provide for them. They should have thought about this before taking the fertility drugs! I don't understand why more people don't adopt...I had two kids and that was all we could afford!

I came from a family of 12. But I didn't have the same life as my mom. Money has a lot to do with how well the up bring will be. I had 3 and that was hard enough. But a law! We have the right to our life as a American. there are very poor countries out there that have a over lode of children. And thay are to poor for Birth control. so what good would it do to make a law?

I tthink if you play you pay. If a woman shows up pregrant the second time wiht no support it should be a immedaite removal o fher baby making organs. as well as her boy friend or who ever is the father.
Our welfare system attracts the lazy, and it's killing us.
Far too many people have children just for the welfare and the unearned income check uncle sam takes from our paycheck.
I agree with you however 8 is entirely too many for someone with no support and even should be a felony.
I think a person with 8 kids should be put in a situation whjere they have ot be forced to pay for them or live their lives in jail or even better be deported.I have an ex son inlaw who is over 25 grand behind in child support.
He pays nothing and laughs at the rest of us. He should be denied all the benefiot sof citizenship, and put inot a pay or jail situation fo rlife with his butt farmed out ot farms to pay for his incarnation.
Like you I am sick of the deadbeats who only exists in that condition because some politician wants their votes.

I think two should be the max number of kids for any couple. No extraordinary means (fertility drugs, artificial insemination, etc) should ever be used and prospective parents should be tested for intelligence, compassion and responsibility before being issued a license to reproduce. That ought to bring the population under control and cut down on the crazy idiot count.

I've always thought that people should need to be licensed to have children. Then I realized that that was pretty fascist of me.

But I do think that people should only have the kids that they can afford, and if they were socially responsible, they wouldn't have more than 2. 2 parents 2 kids. or else it won't matter how many kids you bring into the world when this overpopulation finally destroys it. If you want more than 2, adopt... way more humane than spreading your own bloodline all over the place.

As a society, I think we should put pressure on our friends, families and neighbors to have no more than one child each. So if a married couple have two children and divorce, they should not have any more. We should NOT celebrate over-population. No babies showers for number 3, no congratulations cards etc.

China has used social pressure to great effect this way.

Also, we should use negative inducements - if you have more than two children and are on welfare, reduce your welfare. Cut your food stamps. Poor social behavior should be punished.

It's highly irresponsible to continue increasing the world population. Have children to replace you by all means, but not an excess.

I saw the same show on the family and the answer to your ? is legally no one can tell me how many children to have 0 to infinity! The reality of extremely large familys (personal childhood experience) is that the older children provide 90% of the emotional and physical care of the younger children so is it moral or legal depending on who the caregiver in these famalies are parents or older siblings. The parents know their own limits and those limits are different for everyone! Thank You God for my 5 children and yes I would love to have another and no noone in my house wipes butt or feeds babies but me!!!!!!!!!P.S. NO GOV ASSISTANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eugenics was practiced in Nazi Germany. They sterilized 450,000 people. You are one crazy lady.

Our Supreme Court ruled against forced sterilization for criminals. You would want to sterilize free citizens. Insane and sad.

In which state do you live? I'd like to know so I can stay away completely.

Given the kind of legal doctrines that the Supreme Court Justices have been concocting/pulling out of thin air, I think your proposal would be shot down by those people in black robes.

It depends on whether or not they are supporting them, or sucking the system dry.

My daughter was sick when she was little, and it required an over night stay in the Hospital. In the next bed there was a baby, and the mom was scheduled by the County to be sterilized, because she was proven unfit to mother children...

So, I guess it depends on the situation.
