I'd have the doctor take another look if I were you - sounds like he's not nearly as concerned as he should be.
Your son may be experiencing psychosomatic symptoms, especially if you made a big deal about him possibly getting sick from the water. If so, the pains will pass.
Unfortunately, fish water can harbor lots of nasties. Fish poop and urine contain tons of bacteria. There may be parasites in some of your fish - for the most part, I think the human body is too warm for these parasites to thrive, but I'd still have your doctor take a look at a stool sample, just to be on the safe side. Also, and not to scare you, but some fish are infected with a form of tuberculosis. There have been some accounts of people ending up with skin lesions. Fish TB infected an already open sore on their hands and arms. It generally took several months (and many doctor's visits) for the sores to go away, though I'm not sure if TB can affect the gastrointestinal tract in any sort of way. Read here for more info on fish TB affecting people: http://www.flippersandfins.net/FishTankGranuloma.htm
I don't mean to scare you, but I just thought you should know that there's more in fish water than just bacteria. If your son's symptoms persist, I'd suggest being more persistent with your doctor, or finding another doctor altogether.

Tanks harbor lots of bacteria. Unlike a lake, the water is more infused with it. I would call the doctor back or take him to another doctor. It may be nothing, but you are his mom and his advocate for proper health care. Doctors like to blow us moms off, but no one knows your child better for you. If you think something is wrong, then you have the right to have him examined.

i think of lavatory water is cleanser than fish water different than the assumption of the chemical compounds used 2 sparkling those issues-im unsure that's far less deadly, yet ino the chemical compounds used 4 cleansing lavatories is deadly, that's why u shouldnt enable a dogs drink from it. of direction, im no longer partial to the thot of my head down in the lavatory bowl tho. i think of it ought to b safer if i chosen the fishtank. i actually cant see ne1z abdomen turning over from that, except u made it turn over. as 4 what identity do it 4, i might completely brave fish water in simple terms 2 meet Gary Burghoff (Radar from M*A*S*H). i'm so desperate 2 meet him. & mayb even his little ones/grandkids-if there ARE ne grandkids.

Your son will be fine unless he is prone to infections and easily gets sick, but otherwise if he is healthy, his stomach will hurt for a bit, i used to siphon the water out of my tank using my mouth and lungs, and i would end up with a bacterial infection for two to three days, its nothing major. Just keep a close eye on your son, feed him regular food and lots of water. The bacteria will work itself out of his system.

a lot of germs if anything thats unusual happens to him then i would take him to the docter.it also depends on what fish was in the tank, if it was a gold fish then the water was really bad because they are the most dirtiest fish.

He get sick because of the chlorine in the fish water. Oh make sure he also didnt ate any of aquarium fishes, maybe your son stomach ache due to a fishes he ate , it still swiming in there?

it depends on how clean the water is...
nothing could happen... to stomach ache (prep him for mexico's water).. to catching parasites.. and maybe e. coli.
just keep an eye out on him.
