Now that I am a junior I am so SICK and TIRED of college. In my first and second year I was so motivated and so sure of what I wanted to do, now I am so tired of this. I am majoring in natural science and I almost finishing my tough classes but I am studying with no desire. I am so bored of this.

The thing is that I want to go to graduate school so I have to decide if I want to dedicate 2 or 4 years more of my life studying.

I want to have a damn job already and earn some money to have fun.

Why do I feel this way?

I can't change majors now because that would be like committing suicide.

Hey, we've all been through situations like this. Just this past year I was ready to give up on college. I stuck it out and I'm happy because of it. I don't worry about my future but rather live taking one task at a time, while at the same time knowing that I will soon graduate from college and get a higher paying job.

Live for the now, life is too short to be stressing out over the little things of the future. The best thing about the present is that we have control over it many aspects of it (in our lives). Don't let your life pass you by while you are worring about what will happen.

I think most people feel what you're feeling at some point in college (myself included). I don't really have an answer, just more questions you can ask to yourself that might help...

What is it about natural science that intrigued you when you first chose it? Is there a certain ideal job/career that you're eyeing once you have your degree(s)?

What is it about grad school that interests you? Graduate school will let you put a lot of your knowledge into context, by doing research, field work, and dealing with present-day issues. Getting a head start and learning about your professors' research might perk your interest again in the major. Talk to some grad students and see what advice they might have for you.

I experienced the same thing. By my junior year, I had been in school for 15 years straight and I was just sick of it. I wanted to do something else, and I dropped out.

So take this piece of advice from a college drop out. Stay in school and graduate. I don't care if you hate it. It makes a big difference when you can go out in the job world and say you are a college graduate. Doors to good well paying jobs will open to you. Jobs you actually want to do. It took me about 10 years of working to land those same jobs without the degree.

I can sort of relate.....I want to change my major but I am a senior....my freshman and sophomore years I went to every class and wanted to excel. Now I don't want to go to class or anything because it is so boring to me. I want to go to grad school too but am really fed up with the whole thing. The only advice I can provide (because I'm in a similiar situation) is to just tough it up and try to do it and I guess we will figure out everything later!

Maybe you should take a break from school and get a job. You could have some fun. You can always go back to school.
