'monkey magic' then changed to 'monkey'. i remember watching this with my dad when i was young - talk about cheesy! but i did enjoy watching it. i wanted a cloud just like his!!! his friends were: Tripitaka, Pigsy and Sandy.

Yes. I loved it. It was so over the top. Bad acting, Terrible dubbing, and fun to watch.
The characters I remember are the princess, Monkey and the Pig.

So bad it was good. Seem to remember there being a priest (Buddhist?) and three travellers - Monkey, a pig and something else. Used to be on BBC2 on a Friday evening.

I cannot remember the name of the monkey...but I used to watch it when lived in Rome as a kid!! Just thought.....
'THE MONKEY KING'...is the character...but cartoon character had a different name!!!...anyway soz babbling on here....

Yes when I was little I loved it with old buddah and pigsy so funny Do you know it's repeated on TV these days When I show my girls and say look I used to watch this they say "Crap"

I used to love it,but seeing the re-runs,i wonder what was it that caught my attention.It must of been the extremely bad dubbing or maybe pigsy and monkey.Then again,some of the costumes were good.

Yeah it's Japanese I think. The box set came out two years ago and I've been asking for it since and no one will buy it because they thing it's awful. I'll have to save up for it and buy it myself.
