The "problems" you solve with robots are the problems of human nature:
1) Consistency of quality and precision
2) Can do physically demanding work beyond human capability
3) "Willing" to do monotonous tasks
4) Doesn't get tired, doesn't need breaks
5) Doesn't have "bad days"
6) Good for hazardous environments, worst case at the cost of a machine rather than human life.

A robot is a computer with a mechanical arm.
It will do exactly what you program it to do over and over and will never show a lick of common sense.
