You have a lot to worry about, particularly since (from the sound of things) you're not entirely sure about the whole mess. You can catch STD's from it if he has them. Since he's not a virgin, I'd be leery about that. Hell, I'd be leery of it even if he told me he WAS a virgin. Guys lie about stuff like that all the time.
In my opinion, you're not a virgin after sexual contact of ANY sort.
Please make sure you're 100% okay with doing ANYTHING before you do it, and research methods of protection. If you have any other questions of this sort, check out this LiveJournal community: http://community.livejournal.com/vaginapagina
Responses to questions there are likely to be a LOT less general than places like Y!A.

I really hope you don't plan on doing this. I mean, you really aren't ready, and if you are, that's okay I guess. But in my school, if something like that happens, people start calling you a $LUT. And you don't want that right? So yeah, you know what? I think this guy you're going out with is so wrapped up in sex, etc, and that it's all he wants. If he really loves you, he'll wait until you're ready. Otherwise, he may dump you because you won't do stuff with him. I've been in a relationship like that. You love him, but getting head and eating out, sex, etc is all he wants. It's really not fun. So, think before you do these things. That's all I have to say.

listen sweetie, some of these people are idiots and are giving you advice having no sources and having no experiance, for if they did they would not be filling your mind with these ridiculous attempts of advice....
1. Techically it is poissible to get an std from oral sex(the technical term for eating out), but that has nothing to do with being a carrier. The only way you could get an std is if he has a open wound on his mouth. thats is....if there are nocuts on his lips you will be fine.
2. YOU WILL STILL BE A VIRGIN!!!! you will no longer be a virgin if you have SEX......sex is when a a guys puts his thing in your thing lol.....
if you have any more questions contact me.....i am informed

I believe that oral sex is the most intimate of all sex, even more than intercourse. There is a lot of trust involved. Just the fact that you are questioning it is very good. You can catch herpes or warts. Go with your gut on thisone. I am hoping you stay strong and say no. If he is not a virgin, then he has been exposed to lots of things. What if he has an open sore in his mouth and you contract HIV. It is not worth it. If he isn't happy with NO then, he's not the one. Good luck. By the way, I am 34 and don't enjoy oral sex. I never have. It's too weird to me.

Yes, you can for instance I have heard of a guy having gonorrhea in the mouth from going down on an infected person. You can also get herpes if he has an open sore in his mouth, HIV from the saliva, or genital warts if he has one in the throat. If you really want to do it be sure and get him to get a check-up, since he should be getting one anyway since he is already sexually active. Virginity does not necessarily mean, never to have had intercourse, it means that you are pure as in never have been touched in a sexual manner, or done impure deeds. It is a sign of purity. Because believe me they call the virgin mother Mary a virgin and its not just cause she's never had her hymen broken.

if he has a cold sore you could catch the herpes virus but other than that none that I know of and yes you would still be a virgin. Other than that oral sex is a very personal experience. If yo are concerned about smell just have a shower or wash before. try to relax it feels good and a lot of men aren't willing to do it so if he is take him up on his offer.
