there are only two games that actually have cloud in them. (i have no clue if dirge of cerebus has him, mine is still sealed from when i bought it)
final fantasy VII (7) is the story of cloud - but i don't recommend this as a first final fantasy to play, because it will lower your standards. usually the first one you play will be high up on your favorites.
final fantasy tactics has cloud, but only as a minor extra character you can get near the end of the game.
if i was to recommend a game for you, even though i would like to recommend the psX Final Fantasy Chronicles set, judging by your avatar's name, you would be more up to an action rpg - FFXII (12), the newest one is probably more up your alley than any of the previous titles
something many people might not understand, at first, is that each game is different, and has nothing to do with any of the other games.
FFVII has nothing to do with VIII, it isn't even mentioned. FFIX has little hints from previous titles, but nothing really that important. like a buster sword in a weapon shop as a display. or a rat tail as an auction item..

First I want to address jim there are more games than 2 with cloud in them. Enheigiz(for Ps1) or however you spell it has cloud and other ff7 characters in it. he is in dirge of cerberus but not a playable character. i would also like to state that if you havent noticed more people ( including myself) would love to be able to play FF7 on the ps3 with better gameplay than those opposed. although i do understand where you're coming from on not remaking the game but you shouldnt assume that everyone thinks the game sucks since they've grown older. i for one can make my own opinion of that.

well Final Fantasy X doesnt have Cloud in it, but still!! get it!! its way good! and i think its like $20 at Best Buy=^-^= thats my fav FF game

FFVII has Cloud. I believe it's a PSX game.
