I am not sure how to answer this, because I love my family and friends and would be devistated having no contact with them, but on the other hand if my life or my family's life was in danger I would definately survive it. After a while I think the novelty would wear off.

I wouldn't phone anybody,
But more people than not get tracked down and killed anyways, so really the witness protection buys some time for the victim. It's not a guarantee.

Although it would be tough to not get the latest gossip and hear about my friends new shopping finds, I think the thought of losing my life might keep me away from the phone, can't guarantee anything, but it's a somewhat certain guess. :)
