When I was 38 and had been on The Pill for 11 years, I got pregnant and did not know it. For a lot of reasons, among them being that I never exhibited any normal pregnancy symptoms (I had been pregnant 3 times before and knew what it was like to be pregnant) and I continued to have a period, I was 17 weeks along before I stopped taking the Pill. My doctor was not overly concerned that I had been taking the Pill daily for all those weeks, but was more concerned that I had been on high blood pressure medicine and migraine medicine all the time I was pregnant. There is very little risk to the developing baby when taking the Pill, but you should, of course, discontinue taking it when you find out you are pregnant. My children are now 27, 25, 22, and 9. When our youngest was 6 weeks old, my husband went in and had a vasectomy - we didn't want to trust the Pill again plus we were sure we were done having kids!

I got pregnant when I was on the pill when I was 18 and lost the baby at 7 weeks. If you think you might be pregnant, take a pregnancy test and stop taking the pill if you are. Its not a good feeling having a miscarriage and it will mess with your head for years. I also haven't been able to get pregnant since and I'm 37 now. See a doctor if you have questions just to be smart about it.
Everyones body is different, In my case it hurt the baby..

that is said as the linea alba that is continually there besides the undeniable fact that that is continually not very major. It darken with being pregnant from the hormones. that is conceivable that the line may darken even as on the pill because your body sorta thinks that is pregnant. considered as how the pill is purely extra hormones... sure there is an probability you're pregnant, the pill isn't 100%, yet in a good number of cases the line doesn't darken until eventually the second one or third trimester.

well, the answer is a question? Why would someone who thinks they might be pregnant still take the pill? (unless they don't want a baby) But medically, no it won't harm the baby. I was on the patch when I got pregnant with my third and did not know untill 9 weeks later. she is beautiful and healthy.... and almost 3 what a joy she is.....
If you don't want a baby the pill will not cause an abortion.....

The pill is very effective, there is only a 5% chance of pregnancy when taking it correctly. Read the literature, but the pill I'm on says the side effects to the fetus, if pregnancy occurs, would be minimal to nothing. It says not to come off the pill untill there is a skipped period.

I was worried about this awhile back when I thought I was pregnant. My doctor told me that taking the pill while pregnant would not hurt the baby this early on. She told me to continue to take the pill. Hope that helps.

The pill is so effective, it is very rare that one would get pregnant. Just make sure you take the pill everyday and try to take it at the same time each day.

well your pill will not work once fusion of the two cells has taken place. your progesterone levels will have risen anyway upon preganancy to prevent any "further " fertilization to take place during this episode of pregnancy. So the pill will be rendered the pill useless.

Don't worry..if it happens you and baby will still be fine. My MIL conceived my hubby while on the pill and he was perfectly normal, healthy, full-term. She was so scared her entire pregnancy but everything turned out fine.

Mari
