a blackmoor with white fluff around a probable minor wound? Is aquarium salt any good for this?

Fluff equals fungus. Pimafix is a good fungal med.
Pimafix treats fungal infections and treats both internal and external bacterial infections.

And keep the water pristine with regular partial waterchanges.
It would also help to tell us what size tank he is in and what how often you did partial waterchanges aswell as what your water parameters are (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph)

Pimafix and melafix are wonderful...just make sure you take the activated carbon out of the filter.
