My husband and I have just started trying to have a baby. I know that I was ovulating between October 22 and 23, we started trying on the 20th. I am not under any stress at work or home. I also am not having any major symptoms except that I am almost 3 weeks late (last period the last week in Sept, first week of Oct.) and very tired. I've also been having weird feelings, like being kinda blue and lethargic this past week. I've taken atleast 6 preg tests, all negative. my friend (who is in school for nursing) said that when she was pregnant with her daughter she was 6 weeks pregnant and had to have a blood test because her hormone levels were too low to be detected in a urine test. Another of my friends told me that she was 8 weeks before the tests would read positive and she didn't have ANY syptoms, just a late period. Is it possible to be pregnant with no symptoms and negative tests? What should I do? (keep in mind that I don't have health insurance until the beginning of next month)

My friend was 5 months pregnant before a urine test would register positive.
I would go to the clinic at the health dept. and tell them you need a blood test. If your pregnant and qualify for medicaid it won't cost you anything. If it's negative it will cost according to your income.(sliding scale)

I understand what you are going through. I am going to be a week late in a few days. My periods are very regular, but I'm late. From what I have read this is what I can tell you. Every person is different. Some urine tests won't show up positive for people for several weeks others will get a positive before their missed period. Best of luck to you. Hope everything works out for you. Best thing to do is go to the doctor and take a blood test. Your other choice is to just wait it out. I know that is hard. There are others out there going through the same thing.

Hi, I'm going through the same thing as you. I am two weeks late and have some symptoms - really swollen, tender breasts, cramping the odd time, major mood swings - especially blue and my tests have come out negative as well. I'm still trying to figure out if I'm late because I am pregnant and the test isn't picking it up, or if my cycle is messed up because of the pill. I have had one normal cycle since going off the pill...this time it's late. I will keep my fingers crossed for you! Good luck!

Many people tell these kinds of stories, but with 6 tests, I would doubt they all missed the hormone. As soon as possible, I would go for a blood test. They are not wrong and can detect minute levels of hormone. Good luck!

Sometimes you can get false negatives, but since you've already taken 6 tests, it's safe to say you are not pregnant. I suggest going to a Planned Parenthood. This is the best option if you don't have insurance. They take donations and if you can afford to buy 6 pregnancy tests, you can surely afford to donate $20 for an accurate test. Good luck.
