Given how much he would charge if you hired him for as a consultant, I'd say he was contributing an awful lot. I wonder though how much it costs the restaurant staff/owners in therapy after he has been.

He contributes his harsh but the truth ways so the resturants improve making more profit for the owners. He might have contributed something else (espically this weeks episode when £5000+ was stolen) but if it was it probaly was off-camera.

It's called a trade/out.

The restaurants featured on the show get free advertising and publicity for appearing on the program.

I would think they get enough in national tv publicity and his permission to say '.....as seen on tv with GR' or something like that. Even if they had a crap reputation before then it will be vastly improved and in most cases very lucrative to be associated with his name in that way.

No But they do get training in business skills and advice on their cooking as well as publicity.
