Maybe a certificate for a weekend at a Bed and Breakfast if they like that kind of thing. I have a feeling that whatever it is, when they see the love you put in it, they'll love it!

If they are working most of the time and hardly ever get to see the kids then that is a great idea. It is something they can keep and treasure for ever. As for poses. Take tasteful ones. Remember the kids will see the book as they grow up and you don't want any poses that would embarrass them when they marry. Put the pictures in a hand decorated book. Give it that personal touch. You could also write captions under the pictures. Good luck.

Jewelry is always good. Trust me. My mom is super picky, and one year I was so broke and I went down to the little strip mall store on Mother's Day morning and bought her a pair of $20 sterling silver cubic zirconia earrings and she wears them all the time, even though she has gold and diamonds all over her jewelry box. They are in a ton of the pictures she's in, so I know she doesn't just wear them around me... ha ha ha. You could get your dad an engraved watch or something, or a nice picture frame or something for his desk. You could get them a joint present I guess but if you find out something you could do for that you let me know!!!

Get them both a couples gift certificate for a spa service and/or a dinner out. The thought of being able to spend "quality" time doing something enjoyable together is really thoughtful. If that doesn't sound good to you, think about what they like to do together (or apart) or would like to do and maybe you can facilitate that life experience. It's really the thought that counts.
Happy Holidays!

How about a "night on the town". Reservations at a nice restaurant, play or concert tickets, if the budget allows - a limo ride.
You're parents sound like lucky people!
Good Luck! :-)

I'm 45 and my hubby is 54 and we'd love a generous kid like you. We bought a whole smoked turkey for the peeps and they absolutely loved it. They nibbled on it for weeks. Who wouldn't love it. It runs about $60 - $100. Any nice kitchen/gourmet website will have them.

Why don't you set up a couple's massage for them at a local spa? Or, you could set up a fun date night for them at a good restaurant or a dinner theater. Most parents seem to have whatever they truly need, they love special occasions that they can spend together.

We got a calendar for my parents with each month having a different picture of family members. They said it was the best gift they ever got. I think we paid around $30.00 for it.

For mom I suggest either jewelry or a purse. I got my mom a Coach purse for Christmas this year. For daddy, I'd go with power tools. Does he like hunting/fishing/ other sports? Go with stuff for that.
