Oh god, Americans HATE Canadians. We think their peaceful ways are signs of weakness. We think the same thing about the French.

I'm of Canadian descent, though. I love Canada. Thank god for Hockey!

I'm not totally sure what you're asking, but Canada does tend be known as a peace-keeping country. However, of course Canada has been involved in plenty of wars. In WWI, Canada fought as a colony of Britain, in WWII Canada entered for the first time as an independent country not under Britain's control and played a vital role in various battles such as Dieppe, there was also the war of 1812, etc., etc. Canada has also been heavily involved with many peace-keeping missions and the like. In fact, there are Canadian troops in Afghanistan right now.

I think a lot of people view Canada as a 'neutral' country in the sense that it doesn't start a lot of wars or 'rock the boat', really. There ARE 'Canada-haters', though... but there will always be people who hate certain countries for whatever reason. I think the whole 'Americans hate Canadians/Canadians hate Americans' thing is very much over-exaggerated, though. Not all Americans hate Canadians, just as not all Americans hate Canadians. Same with every other country.

I hope that cleared things up a bit? :)

I would not say that Canada is neutral to the rest of the world... It's just that we have more of a traditional role as peacekeepers (helping in areas of violence) as opposed to being the ones starting the fights. Unfortunately (my opinion, not a reflection of all other Canadians) we are currently outside that traditional role with our forces in Afghanistan. That is not a fault of our soldiers... it's a faulty direction our country's leadership has taken us in.

Canadian soldiers made a profound difference in the outcome of both WWI and WWII... and I am very proud and grateful for that. However, I am also proud when our soldiers are directed to help in countries. I am very against the role our troops are being expected to take in Afghanistan.

And, ya know... I think it speaks well of our nation that there aren't that many that hate us. We do have our problems though...

Plenty of Canadians fought and died in both world wars.

Maybe they just have better things to do with their time than try and run the world, whilst their own country is being over run with drugs and crime.

Canada has fought in lots of the major wars, we just don't really hear about it.
