Hi!
A trojan horse is a program (application) that has vile code contained in it.
Once it gets in your computer (and there are many ways) it runs (it can be set to run).
It configures your system to load and run it every time your computer starts.
It waits, patiently, for a client application (known as trojan client) to connect (most of the time by username and pass), then takes control of the system.
Once the client is connected the user of the trojan has much control of the system, to most files and folders, application...
The confidential data on it becomes quite public, that's why, a trojan (horse) is the no 1 security threat.
Literally, the trojan makes the system... insecure, and so, one can get all your passwords, accounts, personal data, leading, in many cases, to identity theft.

Ok, do you know the story of the ancient people who had the woden Trojan horse to hide in to seage the city? It is the same concept. A Virus "hides" inside an other file that is "safe" to the computer. After it is in it comes out and attacks your hard disk files, then copy's itself over and over again. A virus is a open file that just attacks the computer files without hiding, it just sort of "barges in", so to speak.
Then there is a worm, this nasty little bug gets into your computer, then "worms" itself around your hard disk then all over your network if there is one. This is the hardest to get rid of because it can be any ware at anytime.

It's a way to get virus into your computer. trojans are bundled in software that is normally valid, but can be in any software you add to your computer.. it remains dormant till a given date/time/key stroke. then it does what ever it's been programmed to do..

first build giant horse that you and your friends can hide in. The send it to you enemy with you in it. They will look at it like WTF. Then later when they all go to sleep jump out and kill them all!!
