this happens to me many times.

and i end up feeling guilty about beings so good at something.

its seems like no one around me is happy when i do good at something, its seems they tend to like me less.this isnt always the case but more often then not im trying not to be good at something just so people wont hate me. this is so weird.

That's life. Continue to excel. At some point you can carve out a place under the sun for yourself. At least it'll be yours. Assess whether these are really your friends. A real friend rejoices in the success of another. Whatever you do, never take a government job. Be self employed. It'll cut down on the grief.

From your question, you must be young. As you grow up, you will find that the "nerds" in high school are now the leaders of business and have the most money.

When they tease you, think about how you would like to spend the majority of your life, in a minimum wage job or be a leader of a company?

I felt the same when I was growing up and being in advanced classes. My son feels the same way being in GT classes. One thing you have to remember is those that hate you aren't going to be paying your bills when you grow up. Alot of those that could care less about their education will find themselves in dead end jobs while you will be successful! Best of luck to you and quit worrying about what they think about you . :)

Ignore them. It is much more important to do well than to impress people who are impressed by the wrong things. Strive for excellence in all things. Eventually, you will get the respect that you have earned.

You have to look at the big picture. When those who hate you are saying, "Do you want fries with that?" you will have a great career. Don't let them sidetrack you. They are jealous.

I understand your pain. People don't like to see others doing good for some reason.
