I was just wondering if you are going to pick up the new Sony Playstation 3 that comes out today?
I don't think I will - too expensive, plus in a year, something new will be coming out!

People are stupid as hell. I'll buy it when it drops to about $350 for the 60GB system. There no way I'll camp out at a store for several nights for that. I love video games and I have a PS2. I also realize that the PS3 is a new generation system, but not for $600. Read the unnecessary crimes committed for this damn thing:
Reports of violence surrounding the release of the PS3 include a customer shot, campers robbed at gunpoint, and customers shot with BB guns, 60 campers fight over 10 systems. One man was sent to the hospitial for an injury when a stampede began after a Walmart reportedly placed 10 chairs outside of the store and told 50 people to "try to get in one of the chairs" for a chance to buy one the 10 systems the store received. In a similar incident elsewhere, police were forced to use pepper balls to contain a rowdy crowd ouside of a Circuit City. Two gunmen robbed a GameStop store the night before the release, taking several PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles.

No, according to the news reports, the PlayStation 3 will be released again around Feb. in the multi-millions of numbers AND about $200 less expensive. My son said he'd rather wait till Feb and use the extra $200 for games, etc. :) Sony (and others) release only small numbers to get the publicity from all the lines and people fighting over them. Good FREE PR for them, but common sense tells me another 3 months and less money is the smarter choice.

Picked it up today.
It's going to be at least 4 or 5 more years before a new system comes out. Maybe the Phantom will be available next year.

Anybody who is getting a ps3 already has one. They went on sale this morning; I'd also wager that those people are playing them and not answering questions on yahoo. The wii goes on sale in two days, and no other major systems will be released for quite some time.

if i could get it, i probably would. But given the fact that the majority of the systems are going to have flaws in them, it really wouldnt be worth it right now. Plus most of them are sold out right now anyway, since all they released was 400,000 units.

Not me. I have a PS2 and we never play it. I work for the company and don't want to buy the system.. It just cost to much money..

I will not buy that system, they expect we the gamer buy their system at any prize. to high for a system.
ps4 how much $800.00 , good job sony, u soon will have new record high system in history.

the price is the thing i would keep in mind.
then the games that be released for the system.
the only problem is there might not have much of a future for it.
