You can not put a hold on mail from an address you are submitting a change of address from. If you have your mail on hold and a change of address comes in, the hold ends immediately and the mail is processed to the new address. Confirmation goes out to both the old and new addresses, and they go out AFTER the change is actually processed, sometimes up to two weeks after. So the confirmations will never get held. Moral of the story: Be honest in your dealings, don't try to hide things, and NEVER screw around with the post office.

You don't have to rely on the british mail, just send it up the chimney and his elves will collect it.
