Arkansans don't wear shoes, date their relatives, all live in mobile homes, are poor, and uneducated? Supposedly there are still people all around that believe this. Why do we still have such a bad rep? I see questions on here all the time concerning this (e.g.: q: What to do for fun in AR? a: Hang out at Wal-Mart.) We have one of the top Universities around (Harding). We deserve more respect and people need to lean that the times have changed! Nothing mentioned above is true!

its just stereotyping- we all do it and stereo types arent even accurate for the majority- so don't take it so personally. Is your mom your aunt also? Is that why you are so upset?

well I am from Boston and basically anyone not from NYC or LA is considered back woods here haha not that I agree or condone it it's just an assumtion/generalization most people follow. Just like no matter how equal, people will always get scared of a black man walking by them when they're alone on a dark street, or when a hispanic is too close to their new car.... it's sad but will probably never change.

I disagree with the brush off comments that you should just ignore these perceptions.
Being told to be quite, and just take it, has led all too many to end up acting like sheep in all areas.
Keep up the hard work of spreading your thoughts and beliefs! Please don't give up!
Look what Ann Richards did for women in Texan politics. Granted, quite a role model, but I think you have the same passion.

People are idiots. I am hosting a German foreign exchange student and she has had people ask her if they have cars over there, if they have internet over there, and many other equally stupid questions. Hello, it is called the WORLD WIDE WEB!
