Why was it that George Bush was too much of a coward to go to Vietnem during the war?

Bush is in Vietnem now and is acting like he is an expert on their country, but he was too cowardice to go to Vietnem during the war.

He had his daddy keep him from going over there.

Just who does he think he is fooling?

Bush hid out from war, using his daddy’s connections to get bumped to the head of the line to get in the Texas Air National Guard to avoid serving in Southeast Asia. They’ve seen the enlistment documents where he opted out of overseas service, an extra step to make sure he stayed stateside during the war.

Bush is a coward – yellow through-and-through, a cardboard cowboy who can sign an executive order sending American men and women to their deaths in Iraq but one who didn’t have the courage to stand up and fight for his country when he had a chance.

Now more and more people see Bush for what he is – a lying, sniveling coward who does not deserve to be called Commander in Chief. They see a man who sent Americans to die in a war based on false pretenses and now has the gall to try and invoke the memories of real heroes to try and rationalize his illegality, immorality and cowardice.

Kerry spent 3 months in country. He came back and called Vietnam vets murders of the caliber of "Jin Jis Khan" (His pronunciation) and listed the deeds he performed as proof. He also brought his own camera crew to record his heroism.
Bush was in the reserves and callable at anytime. Had he been trained on a different aircraft, one the Air force decided not to use anymore in Vietnam because of its high loss rate. Trained in a F105 he could have been flying with John MC Cain. Only the very best of the best are selected and survive training to be fighter pilots. He also volunteered for service in Vietnam.
Clinton wrote the Draft board that he "disdained the Military and everything it stood for" and dodged the Draft by going overseas to school.

I think this is a very unfair question. You know quite well it was very difficult for President Bush to put in for Vietnam as he was having trouble falling from bar stools and the drug of choice in Vietnam was not coke.

These excuses about aircraft obsolete or no spots or whatever are right on the mark. After all he is the Decider and he decided to shirk his duty. Now, just where are those missing records?

It's pretty well acknowledged that Bush is a different man today than he was decades ago. He was a boozer and n'ere do well (is that how you spell it) for his early years.

We all know that gwb was a draft dodger, but you have to consider the times. i would sure as hell not have wanted to go over there and many people who fought bravely in that war did not want to go there. I disagree with him not serving and it shows a lot about his character but can you really blame him and unless your a veteran you cant.

Whoa tumbleweed1954. Say what you want about John Kerry, but you went to far in questioning his service. He fought for this country in war and led soldiers. He received multiple medals for his heroics. Don't ever imply that a soldier who fights for the US was anything less then a hero for their service.

Actually, President Bush was much too busy. The Government sent him on a mission to find Bill Clinton who fled the Country to avoid the draft.

He was in the Air Force Reserve and was not asked to go to Viet Nam. At least he wasn't in Canada. Worse yet he could have gone to Viet Nam and been like John Kerry.
