Should I stay in a town that I hate because the job pays well (and has good benefits)and buy a new house that I don't really like? Or should I go back to a town that I love, where I already have a house (don't own it yet) that I love and have fixed up (partially the way I want) but I do not have a job there and the job potential is not as good? I would have to quit my government job and take whatever I could get.

How do you decide between a job that gives you experience, lots of days off and benefits in a desolate, town full of greedy people and a beautiful town where you feel at home and happy but do not have a job?

yeh its hard, but first try saving money so you can buy the house where you want to move. go visit when you have time off. cities are growing fast so one day you might be able to get job there, keep your eyes open.

I would go home. Life is too short to be unhappy. Money is not everything. True it can help to make you happy. But if you stay in a job that you don't like you will get burned out fast and then what. Go ahead and be happy, you'll find a job, and maybe in the small town you won't need a whole lot of money to live comfortably. If you don't live everyday as if it were your last, you'll wake up one day wondering where your life went. If today was your last (God forbid) what would you want to be doing? Be happy. Good luck.

I would look for a job in the "good" town and hold off on the moving decision for as long as I can. If you can commute, you can always move to the good town and commute to the good job until you get a decent job offer in the good town.

I feel environment is more important than money, but security is important, too. If nothing else, you can stay at the good job and move to a nearby town. I just wouldn't quit my job without having something else lined up.

You could also just move somewhere completely different, get a good house, good job, and good town.

Find a job that pays well in the town you love first. Because if you become broke, the beautiful town you love won't be so beautiful anymore.

Maybe you could go back to your town to live, but look outside of it to see if there are more career opportunities. You might have to drive a little farther to get to work, but maybe there will be someone who'll be willing to car pool with you. If you're not happy living where you are now, then don't stay-it's not worth it. Having money is nice, but being happy is more important. You have one life to live, so don't spend it being miserable.

Are those the only two options? Why not try a new city that has the career benefits you need? You wouldn't sacrifice your career, and you might find a city that you really love--that you can also find work in.

All of the money and security in the world is worth nothing if you're unhappy. Go home.

If you go there will be trouble
if you stay it will be doubled.
