Is America? I have no idea. However, I'm more than ready. I think America is getting ready. Political wives on the right are ceasing to be just wives and becoming candidates and elected officials in their own right like Elizabeth Dole. So I'm thinking that the female politician issue isn't going to be lib vs con any more. If cons. are ready for a conservative female canidate, than a women pres will happen sometime in the next ten to twenty years.

I think America could deal with it faster than some other countries in the world could.

Remember most countries populated by hispanic, middle eastern, and oriental people live in societies where women take a lesser role and looked down upon or weak.

I do not agree with that, but U.S. foreign policies will have to work with these countries and if they do not respect or take seriously their own countrywomen, they surely will not take us serious. They don't now, and it isn't because of Bush... it is because of what our society has become and the loss of our own morals.

I definitely think so. I think the U.S. is ready for a black president too. It would just have to be the right person. I'd vote for Elizabeth Dole or Colin Powell in a heartbeat. In fact, I'd love to see a ticket with both of them on it!

I think America has been ready for a while, but I personally don't believe there has been a possible female candidate that is worth getting my vote, especially not Hillary or Condi.

I am. I love women and am sick and tired of being sick and tired of men screwing things up..I don't think Hilery Clinton is white house material. She has proven too many times her best interests are not in America.
I think a woman would look at the situation in a different manner and respond quicker,a nd mor epostive than men who have had the status quo much too long.
It's wrong when the majority are denied the highest office in the country and world due to their sex.
Unfortunately they fault lies too often with women . They simply too often refuse to support women.
There are more women than men and They have the power to elect a woman president.
Other countries have has sucess with women leaders and usually it's other women in government who give them the least support.

Go for it ladies.

Sadly no, we're not even ready for a black male president. If Condi or Hillary were to run, I'd be in favor of both. But the majority I don't think would..

For me, that would depend on the woman who is running, whether I feel she is truly interested in helping our country or has a hidden agenda.

No. women have the majority in this country, yet almost all politicians are men. I think there's a lot of men and women who don't vote for women politicians.
