Okay here is my question how does the doctor measure you? Is it true that centimeters means how many weeks or is it something different?

they calculate your due birth based on the first day of your last period......then when they do their ultrasounds they measure certain parts of bubs to determine the actual term...another way is to measure the length between your pelvis and your bellybutton.....

It works out that the height of your uterus in centimeters is approximately how far along you are in weeks. For example, I measured 37 cm at my last appointment and I was 36 weeks 4 days.

For all of you ladies who have never been through this before, around the second trimester the doctor (or midwife) measures the height of your uterus with a tape measure to make sure the baby (and everything around him) is growing properly.

Starting in the second trimester, the size of your uterus corresponds to how many weeks pregnant you are. So, if you measure about 15 cm from your pubic bone to the top of your uterus you should be 15 weeks pregnant. However there is room for some variation. Using an ultrasound to measure the fetus in the first trimester is more accurate.

when you are newly pregnant the dr will measure you by ultrasound , the size of the "bean". Once you start to show, i think it's around 12-14 weeks, they will start to use centimeters from your pubic bone to your belly button to gage your sizing.

I believe they look at how big your uterus and baby is too tell by cm but they go by what size the baby is and figure out the weeks.
