Now that elections are over, and their speeches about the low gas prices did not garner enough support, they are willing to allow gas prices to rise again. That's my theory, anyway.

The price went up for us but the cost of crude remained the same. Today crude costs went down. Will lower prices follow? Something smells around here.

AS long as the DOW continues to rise I'm okay with it. I'll defer my winnings to my gas tank and call it even.

On a serious note, if DOW was tanking I would agree to some of this, but the Saudis are cutting us some slack on the price of oil barrels so I don't think its the Repubs running the gas.

It's a reaction to world events. It is the opinion of those that calculate the values of petroleum that petroleum will become scarcer and thus more valuable with the shift in Washington politics. That effects the economy.

Not at all. Everyone knows the Democrats are very hostile to any attempt at increasing the oil supply. They've opposed all new drilling, building of refineries, etc.

It's just natural market reaction to the idea that no new supplies will be in the pipeline so to speak, in the near future.

On a appropriate notice, interestingly that Dubya is smarter than we theory! earlier he became reelected, he suggested that if I vote for John Kerry then gas fees will pass up. I voted for John Kerry, and specific sufficient, gas fees went up! he's a freakin' genius!

Our election does not force the world's oil producers to conform in any way. Coincidence caused by market forces, I think.
