Look at me, what do you think I would say.

Why not? I live in the Netherlands where it is (sort of) legal (hard to explain that one :) ), and research has shown that almost exactly the same percentage of the people use marijuana as in the USA. But in the Netherlands we actually have ways to limit and control the use of it by for instance the underaged, and (in a way) we also tax it.
Because it is out in the open, people know a lot about it, and can make an educated choice to start using it or not. There are few persons who don't know the risks of (over)using pot. We don't make a big fuss out of it, although there are some social rules that make it 'not done' to light up a joint in a restaurant or movie theatre, for instance.
And marijuna is a lot safer than alcohol in many aspects. Alcohol is much more addictive than marijuna, and has a much larger influence on someone's health. But alcohol is the socially accepted hard drug and marijuna isn't. I think it would safe up a lot of the time of the police if they didn't have to arrest anyone who smokes pot, so legalising it would be a big benefit for society, I'd say.
It's very hard to outlaw drugs. They will always exist in society, but criminalizing them makes it harder to regulate them. Although the big question is if it would be wise to legalize the *really* addictive and dangerous drugs like heroin or cocain.

Marijuana smoking should be legalised everywhere.
It is a simple natural herb, which provides pleasure and relaxation, and has many beneficial medicinal properties. It relieves stress, reduces pain, and certain studies show that it can disipate asthma, and be beneficial to alzheimer's patients.
The reason it was made illegal in the first place was because the oil from the seeds can be used to fuel an engine, and so the oil lobby, along with the media who were making profits from cutting down trees, found a way to make it illegal. The law was passed as a part of the tax law, which introduced the name marijuana, so that nobody would realise that they were restricting the use of hemp.

There haven't been any cases of diseases or deaths from marijuana. Cigarettes are the cause of death for how many people in a day? Some of the most creative people in the world get their ideas from smoking. If it were legal, I would say screw cigarettes, and start smoking a pack a day of joints. If I were to become president, I would tell everyone "I did enhale, snort and pop, and that is why I know it is ok to legallize"

My opinions are mixed. Having it illegal causes problems such as people on chemo-therapy running afoul of the law, which is not good. However, nicotine and alcohol are both legal, and these two drugs are the two most abused drugs, which argues against legalizing marijuana.

I do too!!!! I am not young either, I just think it is stupid that alcohol is leagal and weed isn't. When people are high they don't get in a car and think they can drive 100 mpr and do so safely, it's more like they drive 20 in a 70 and get pulled over for going too slow!!!
Don't get into stupid fights, it makes no sense to me, plus if it was legal, our police could concentrate on more important things...like the bad guys!!!!

hey i don't use it but i think if its here on mother earth then it should be legal they are just now finding out that its good for many things

I'd much rather see pot legal than booze!

i've never seen anyone fight, crash a car or hurt anyone when they are stoned. However i've seen it plenty of times when someone is drunk.

I think it should too. To many people are being sent to jail for the use of this drug when the focus should be pointed elsewhere. Like at violent criminals and deadly drugs. Personally I don't like weed. I hated it but that is no reason to restrict others from using it.

As long as health insurance doesn't have to pay out for any medical conditions/accidents arising from its use. I'd legalise all drugs (and tax them) if there was a consensus that people should be responsible for the consequences of their actions, not insurance companies or taxpayers.

What's theproblem that people can't get through life without living in a drug induced fog. If you are willing to use marijuana the chances are you are willing to try anything, and with some of them you are hooked on after the first try. I Don't think it should be legalised.

Sure, and in many ways its like tobacco...however for that reason alone it will remain illegal. It will cut into the tobacco companies/farmers pockets too much. Its just a choice in life that many make..smoking ciggs, legal....marijuana, illegal...go figure
