Question.....?

Question

Anyone have any helpful writing tips when writing a novel? Besides the regular, "write about what you know" and "put yourself into the character's heads", and "have a good, concrete outline, and be sure to edit and revise"...I know those are all true and are informative, helpful tips, but anyone have any other helpful tips other than those? Thanks so much,

As you write, occasionally pause and read what you have written. Not for spellchecking or obvious faults, but to see if you are satisfied with your own prose; to see if the dialogue flows, and to get a feel for what your readers will encounter.

If you can read it enjoyably, then keep writing. If not, perhaps you need to rewrite.

The best advice I ever got was to rewrite a lot, and learn to enjoy it.

I write myself, so I would have to say that you should just WRITE. Don't really think about the story. Just write as it comes along. Writing is similar to life, you never know whats gonna happen until it happens. Whenever you plan something out, it never seems to go the way it was planned.

just write down all the ideas you have into the first draft, don't be afraid to include whatever jumps into your mind, be creative and have fun with it.

writing is for yourself, so just enjoy it and it will come from your heart, which is the best way to write [=

keep the pace of the book nice and even, don't be afraid to chop down bits that are slow reading without adding much
