All of the original Little House books were written by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Unlike the bestselling authors of today, she didn't sell her name. There's a rumor that her daughter wrote some of them, but this isn't true. Rose Wilder was a well known journalist who inspired her mother to write the books. She'd been published in many magazines prior, but didn't start the books until she was 60.
