Either that or they weren't in control in the 1st place. I think the latter is just a little more believable, though I'm sure there will be plenty of Libs who believe the former.

The price of crude oil is dropping. The price of gasoline is rising. In Florida and from what I'm reading other states also. Florida is a strong Republican state, the libs causing the prices to rise here also?

Supply and demand, market forces, sure they both have an effect. Manipulation on a global scale has more of an effect. Doesn't it seem strange that if you see four different gas stations at an intersection they are all within a penny or two of each other?
I'm suppose to believe the seventy five cent drop after labor day was because the driving season ended? I'm still driving and from the amount of traffic on the roads, so is everyone else. I will repeat this again. What happened to the oil shortage of thirty five years ago?

If Chaney had that much power I would vote for him for world president. Did you even read the link you posted? It explained the oil cost (mild weather = not as much demand & high supply = lower value). I keep seeing all these post about how every thing the Admin does is about oil ( war in Iraq) and how Bush and company dictate gas/ oil price and I wonder just how bad our school system must really be. Did they stop teaching economics or are our students just high on the drugs coming across our southern border? The people who make the claims that the oil prices are driven by this current administration are the same people who without fail will talk of how stupid the administration is. If they are controling prices on something that is largely produced in countries that hat the US then you should be bowing before them. Bush and Chainey aren't smart enough to control oil prices largly set by the middle east (yes the same middle east that hates Bush).

Market fluctuation and speculation are what drives prices, that said there has been an artificial decline in demand since the fed stopped buying crude for the United States Strategic reserves, now we'll start buying again and prices will go back up as demand increases , so markets generally set price but supply and demand can be manipulated, the above is an example of that

I hope you are being sarcastic.

It is supply and demand with speculation....The US dollar is rising in value as foreign investors are investing in the stock market to take advantage of the Santa Claus rally (when people get their bonuses with large 401K contributions going into the market).

Oil prices tend to go down in fall as it is not yet so cold to drive heating oil prices and the summer driving season is well over. The latest API report showed an increase in oil (CL) supply but a decrease in stock piles of both gas(HU) and heating oil (HO)

Actually no, they are planning another 9/11 happening so they can change the laws of a president staying president past the usual eight years. If not that they are at least planning another 9/11, but on a massive scale. The oil companies and this bush family know it's about over, so the gas prices will go lower for a while, then skyrocket starting next spring so they can "get theirs" while people are stupid enough to still drive gasoline driven cars. I may have spent 8o,ooo grand on my electric car....but it's the best thing I've ever done....at least I'm not supporting their murderous bottoms. be well

I don't think they have that kind of power.
One of the big problem right now is that the states have lost so much power to the corporation.

If they wanted to exerce that kind of a control they would need almost every other important countries help...

The problem is corporations are global while countries are national

They lost control of the gas prices when they lost control of Congress.

Gas prices have been going up here. I hate that they always go up before major holidays.
