i honestly believe that they (me as well)go on about it not just because that is the only world cup we have won(we should of won italia 90). it is because back then football and footballers were real sports stars and legends. Pele Moore Charlton eusabio etc. and they are worth remembering i mean i love football but its all about money and image nowadays i mean could you imagine jack Charlton diving around like he had been shot or Pele moaning about not getting enough wages (Ashley sulky Cole). I'm only 27 so never got to see the kind of football they used to play in the 60's but i wish i could because its not like hat anymore...i mean look at the Chelsea Barcelona match 2 of the best teams in Europe with world class players and what were they doing .....rolling around like they had been shot or asking the ref to book a player that wouldn't have happened in 60's men were men.

Because England sucks at pretty much everything in the sporting world that they allow nostalgia to consume them - living in the present would be too depressing for them.
they are supposed to be one of the best teams in the world but time after time they fall short and the only time they ever win anything is when flukes occur like with the rugby world cup and the ashes in cricket.
maybe they'd win something if they looked to the future instead of the past either that or get bobby Moore and the other guys back in on the pitch to show Lampard and the boys how its done.

when you win the world cup or let alone win your qualifying group you can tell the English people to shut it
maybe it's because unlike you we've had some glory and if you were to go to any other football mad country who've won something you'd find it's exactly the same
well maybe not in Brazil
