No it is antifugal not antibiotic. I have not heard of it affecting the pill effectiveness but you should ask your pharmacist to be on the safe side as he will have an answer.

I am not 100% sure, but i don't think it is unsafe. I have taken antibiotics while on the patch and it is not harmful. Also if your doctor was the one who perscriben the antibiotic it should be ok. Just don't take any other medications while on the yeast infection (besides the antibiotic and birth control)

I am currently on both and I asked my doc if antibiotics would lessen the effect of the birth control pill and she said no. As long as you are taking the birth control pill at close to the exact time each day you should be ok. There ins't any data out there that can prove the BP is "inactive" while on antibiotics. I mean, come on, what women would enroll in that clnical trial, right?? Just be careful!

antibiotics can cause your birth control not to be affective so you need to use another form of birth control. as far as the pill for yeast infections you could call the pharmacy and ask them.

I don't know in regards to percentages, but i do know that taking antibiotics in conjunction with the pill makes it very much ineffective so it is advisable to use another means of barrier precaution ie condoms/femidom. If you had unprotected sex in the last 72 hours its not too late for her to take the morning after pill. If its too late i suggest you both have a very good talk about what steps to take next. Good luck

Diflucan is an antifungal. Not an antibacterial. While there are some medications that Diflucan does interact with, birth control is not one of them. You can can safely take birth control and Diflucan at the same time. But it is not recommended to have intercourse while you have a yeast infection.

Whenever you take antib's be sure to use a back up plan of protection....like a condom. Because it can weaken your pills strength.
