I have all our friends and families addresses on the computer. Is it tacky to just print labels and put on the envelopes? I know handwriting each recipient's address is more personal, but it takes so long to do 60 cards.

I don't think it matters. Your just trying to spread some holiday cheer. As long as you don't get the address wrong, I don't see a problem.

It is a bit impersonal, but that might be fine if you otherwise wouldn't get around to addressing and sending the cards. Maybe you could personally address only the cards to your close friends and print out the rest of the labels in a nice script font.

God do people really get that bothered by what is put on the envelopes????? You throw them away for goodness sake, no one keeps old envelopes. I would seriously doubt if anyone will even glance at the address label once the envelope is open, they'll be delighted to have got your invite so printed labels won't bother them. Really, is this what the world is coming to, when brides and grooms have to stress over a label????? There are way more important things for you to think about at this time, labels should be way down on the list. Far better for them to have labels that the post man can actually read if your writing is poor.

No its not. Sending a chain email or forwarding jokes and never actually writing a letter or email is impersonal.
Addressing it on labels means its legible and and will get to the destination.
Its what inside the letter that counts. That doesn't have to be handwritten either, just personally addressed and relevant to each person.
Please with computers is anyone handwriting presentable anymore? Mine is pretty bad. It would be more insulting to send an illegible scrawl.

It's a little impersonal, but what's more important is how you address it on the inside. If you take the time to write an individual note to everyone, they'll look straight past the label on the outside.

It may seem impersonal to some, but I am happy to hear from friends, even if they send out a copied letter in an envelope with a label.
I have a couple of friends who write one really exceptional letter . They make copies. I think it's great.

The address labels are fine, but I think it's nice to write something personal inside each card, and at the very least sign your name. But the envelope shouldn't matter.

Nope. But I hand write my message in the card. The envelope gets thrown out while the card is kept.

Though a little impersonal I would say it is fine. Just make sure you sign them yourself and put a little note inside. Even if it is the same note to everyone.

I don't blame you for wanting to do labels, (I have a huge mailing list too) just make sure to put a little X-mas background on them or buy some X-mas stickers from a craft store and decorate the envelopes.
Have a great X-mas! :-)
