How do they make the cat Salem from Sabrina the Teenage Witch talk? Is it a real cat that they editted, robot, or what?

tbh probably not, but I am bias and love cats and to have a cat with a voice and be sarcastic as salem was. I doubt it, you'll find most films that use a domesticated animal in will be more successful thaa just a human only part. So to your answer i would have probably not liked the show as much without salem

The show's creators were very sensitive to the treatment of animals, so Salem was often played by an animatronic puppet rather than one of the 4 actual cats who are used for the non-dialogue scenes.

It's a real cat when it runs. But when it talks it's a puppet/robot mix. Nick Bakay does the voice of Salem.

Salem is obviously some kind of animatronic or a robot. He looks completely fake, when, he is talking. The scenes with him running or in action use a real cat.

If I remember correctly, they use both a real cat and a mechanical cat. They use the real cat in scenes where Salem is not talking and the mechanical cat for scenes in which he is talking.

It is just a movie effect.The cat doesen't talk when there are filming the episode but when they are finished they simply add a voice of the actor in the show.
