Looks don't get you very far especially as you get older.
Society says you have to be thin, perfect and glamorous to be successful but that is not true. God to doves campaign for beauty and you will see all it takes for a cover model to look that stellar supreme and perfect.
We are preoccupied by what we see and we judge by appearance and the truth is beauty is within and in the eye of the beholder.
This way of vanity is very shallow exspeically if you don't fit the societies image of beauty.
Being good looking means you have good looks that is all it means. I dated a man over 250 pounds we had fun together but he was a perfect gentleman we are still friends to this day.
Looks are so overrated.

Annoying, isn't it? According to the standards of the society we live in, I should lose around fifteen pounds, get implants for the weight that weight loss will take away from my boobs, get botox injections for those little lines that are starting to appear, and the list could probably go on. I have already decided not to fall into that trap. I have waited this long to be respected for my mind and not have to play the games associated with being sexy or gorgeous, and I kind of like it. Nothing makes me more sick than the mother of a teenager trying to look 25. I don't think people should look unhealthy, or stop trying to look good- but some don't know where to draw the line. Anyway, my grandmother always used to say, "Pretty is as pretty does."

It is not just today. Look back in history...French, British, Queen Elizabeth the First of England was very vain she wore red wigs started the trend of fathringale/ruff collars to hide her scrawny neck,etc., go back to Egypt in Cleopatra's days they, male and female, were big on vanity.....that's life.
