Do not loose faith in the human race quite yet.
A recent survey asked people if they would wait in line over night to buy this video console - 98% of the respondents said no way - never.
That means what we are seeing is the 2% of the nut cases who probably missed the local Star Trek convention in order to pitch their tents in the parking lots.
And when you start with the 2% of the lowest denominator - it's not surprising that a few would bring weapons to ward off any of the dirt bags that might try and cut in the line.
It's a sad commentary, eh?

Haha, I know of a site where people have been talking about doing just this. Some people would like to get there hands on a PS3, a lot of people are stealing them to sell them on eBay for extortionate amounts, that's life. It's a way to make easy money, if I had the chance I'd do it too.
Oh, and someone also ran into a metal pole while trying to run to get a PS3, hahahaha.
EDIT: Oh, and some guys drive-byed some people lining up outside a shop, with a BB gun, hahaha, much PS3-related violence to be had.

Not what I heard. I think what your talking about is that some people in line waiting for the stores to open were robbed in Conniticuit?
If so that was just because, I mean theres people outside, unprotected, with around $600+ in there pockets. One guy refused to give up his money and was shot.
Its not really surprising that they were robbed. It was obvious where there would be people, who were guarenteed to have money with them, and probably unprotected.
I can really apreciate how those robbed must have been. Saving up 600 ain't exactly easy. Then to have it taken from you..........
Something also happened in Kentucky, about so 'drive by shootings' were some people were shooting BB pellets at the people in line, thats just ridiculuous.... and probably some sore losers that couldn't get any preorder.

Makes sense as it seems that is all they do to each other when playing on them. I have found the level of violence so sick now I have left computer games behind. Cant the programmers think up games like from older days where you have to use your head as it seems all there is are mass murder simulation games. Sad really. Parents please have a look at the games your kids are playing as the industry does not really care about the level of violence they are exposed to, and expected to participate in....

because pre pubescent teens have gone crazy about this *supposed* super console. i myself have an x box 360 and im very protective of it. thing is the console is worth $600 Or £429.99 in the uk so it would be a profitable steal for a scum bag to sell. so thats why. but gaming rivalries have happened for years.. i blame my future violence on gears of war for my 360 its gory as hell :)
